Inorganic ions are charged atoms that do not contain carbon – for example iron, hydrogen, sodium and phosphate
You should know the following inorganic ions, as well as their properties and roles in the body:
- Hydrogen ions ([katex]H^+[/katex])
- Iron ions ([katex]Fe^{2+}/Fe^{3+}[/katex])
- Sodium ions ([katex]Na^+[/katex])
- Phosphate ions ([katex]PO_4^{3-}[/katex])
- Calcium ions ([katex]Ca^{2+}[/katex])
Some specifications don't contain calcium, but we'll touch on it anyway (because extra knowledge doesn't hurt).
