What is magnification?
Magnification is something you should have learned at GCSE, so you might be fairly confident on this already. It is how much bigger the image is than the actual specimen that is being observed and can be calculated using the formula below:

What is resolution?
Resolution is how well a microscope can distinguish between two points and still view them as two separate objects.
