The evidence for evolution is information that supports the theory of evolution.
This is the theory that all organisms on our planet came from one (or a few) common ancestors, and that they've changed and diversified over time.
There is a huge variety of different organisms on our planet, but they all share part of the same biochemistry. They all contain the same groups of carbon-based compounds that interact in similar ways (like they all contain the same nucleic acids - DNA & RNA) and they all contain the same amino acids to build up proteins.
These similarities mean that animals and plants may have a common ancestor, which means that these similarities indirectly provide evidence for evolution.
