- First, the chromatids finally reach opposite ends of the spindle, they become long and thin - this means that they are chromosomes again.
- The nuclear envelope forms around each set of chromosomes at opposite ends of the cell.
- The cytoplasm divides and two genetically identical daughter cells are produced - this process of division is called cytokinesis.
